COMMUNITY INFORMATION MEETINGS – January 2021

Nisokapawino Forestry Management Corporation (NFMC) is in the process of preparing the 2021 – 2023 Forest Management Operating Plan (FMOP) for NFMC and Canadian Kraft Paper Industries Limited (CKP) operations on Forest Management License (FML) Area #2. This Plan identifies proposed harvesting, reforestation, and road development/decommissioning activities that may be carried out by NFMC and CKP between June 1, 2021, and May 31, 2023.

As part of the FMOP process, we normally hold community information meetings in your communities to present the proposed Plan, answer questions, and gather feedback from attendees to be used in finalizing the Plan. We will not be scheduling “in-person” meetings this time around due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation, current Provincial restrictions, and our desire not to facilitate an additional opportunity for transmission of the virus. Alternatively, we plan to set up virtual meetings using Zoom that people can connect to at scheduled times. Please see the proposed schedule below.
